What's Hot (updated 10.10.07):
The white boys and girls pack nightclubs like Schooners Lancaster on Thursdays and Saturdays and Heart Attack Shows (now usually at the Cedar Center, no bar but some good bands). Believe it or not the new Wednesday hotspot for electronic is Club Remix at 2072 East Palmdale Blvd. Also worth checking out is our little hot spots like Maxdons and Casa Roma. oh and in Santa Clarita life is all about The Greens in Valencia (love this place). Also cool in Santa Clarita is The VU in Newhall, Winstons and for the White Hip Hop crowd check out The Tailgate.
Latinas y Latinos love El Dorado Palmdale on
Thursdays (Hip Hop y Reggaeton), Fridays (Reggaeton y Cumbia), Saturdays (Rancheros) and
Sundays (Everything). Mango Tango y the old Blackburns in Lancaster look nice, but not
very many people going there yet. For cantinas check out our lil weekend hot spots like
Horseshoe in Palmdale and JJ's in Littlerock (and opening soon watch for what will be
coming to Las Islitas in Palmdale).
Karaoke crowd from Tipsy Bull seems to have
split between the Pit Stop and Uncle Sam’s Bar in Lancaster.
R&B: Honestly I usually don’t bother to announce most R&B spots in the Antelope Valley because they tend to get shut down too quickly, but for those that did not enjoy any of the old gang banger hang outs try the Purple Martini in Lancaster.
Cards and OTB: The only legal card game in Rosemond is actually worth checking. Remodeled by the new owners, the future is looking bright for this little casino. We must stress though that for as much as we ask you to not drink and drive in the AV, you do not want to cross the LA/Kern County line after having a drink. Use car service, limo or a taxi (only $20-$30 from the casino to Lancaster). Also very nice is the new Turf Club (off track betting) at the new Fair Grounds on Ave H in Lancaster.
Skin and Sin: Antelope Valley does not yet have any legal nude or topless bars. Snooky's in Lancaster is our resident bikini bar and almost every single foam party and martigrass party is worth checking out. Escort Services, Private Strip Parties, Street Walkers and even business at the local Massage Parlor(s) however still appear to be getting busier and busier.
Alternative Lifestyle: The only openly gay bar in the Antelope Valley (known before as Shakers) the Back Door Night Club is back in Lancaster again, this time with a new owner. The only gay bar from Bakersfield to Los Angeles is once again the Back Door in Lancaster.
